As a system integrator, you can invite your customers to use the HOOC CompactApp by simply sharing a QR code. This allows them to monitor their own building installations directly. Before sending the invitation, you have the option to customize and limit their access rights as needed. Previously, these restrictions could only be applied at the «Services» level, meaning you could, for example, enable VPN access for an external service provider but disable the «Alarming» service.
With the introduction of HOOC labels, or so-called role-based ACLs, you can now define access rights with even greater precision. This allows you to not only grant a person access to specific services but also to enable usage rights for particular functionalities. Furthermore, you can assign read or write permissions to specific data points. As a result, end users will only see the systems, services, functionalities, and data points that you have explicitly activated for them in their CompactApp.
As you can imagine, such granular access and usage rights unlock new possibilities. Here are just a few examples:
Alarming: A customer can access a system but is only allowed to modify or pause certain alarm rules. They can view the other alarm rules but cannot edit them.
Secure Remote Control (SERC): Similar to alarms, you can assign specific read and write permissions for data points.
Information Board: Instead of allowing users to freely post on the site's digital pinboard, you can grant them specific rights or specify which elements they are allowed to edit.
Secure Proxy (SEPROX): Likewise, users are granted access only to the end devices (e.g., webcams, PCs, visualizations) for which they are responsible, receiving access or permalinks exclusively for those devices.
Role-based ACLs allow you to customize access rights for different user groups.
For example, in a building, the tenant, caretaker, and administrator can each view specific system information relevant to their roles. In a large industrial company, alarms can be directed to the appropriate team members based on predefined labels and priorities. Meanwhile, in an office complex, the facility manager can use the CompactApp to manage only the data points or HVAC systems within the offices under their control.
The potential applications are virtually limitless.
Log in to the HOOC ManagementPortal (my.hooc.me) and navigate to Site Account → User Management → Site Users → Role-based access control. Then, click the plus sign.
Here, you can assign specific usage rights to individual customers or entire groups (e.g., shift workers, operators, technical team, etc.).

One final note: The ability to set labels or ACLs is available exclusively with our flexible subscription model, HOOC Flex. Unfortunately, if you have purchased a fixed S, M, or L package, known as HOOC Fix, these functionalities are not included.
