So far, the various HOOC gateways from Connect H to Connect XT had their own ConnectOS versions, depending on the model. For the specific upgrades, a file had to be downloaded via the respective gateway.
With the new ConnectOS (https://www.hooc.ch/en-us/news/en-new-features/connect-os), HOOC has now developed a standardized operating system for all its gateways. You can therefore use the same firmware upgrade for all your devices. You can now also download this directly with 2-3 clicks in the HOOC ManagementPortal.
Additional extra: As you know, network components generally have a life cycle of 5 to a maximum of 10 years. This would mean that our «first generation» gateways would now have to be replaced or physically renewed on site. Thanks to the new firmware upgrade, even these gateways can now remain in use.
For security reasons, HOOC generally recommends upgrading all gateways. However, it is mandatory to upgrade the gateways of type Connect H and T up to and including serial number 19xxxxxxxxxxxx, by March 31, 2025 at the latest. Otherwise, the gateways will no longer be able to connect to the HOOC Cloud and your systems will no longer work.
You can upgrade the firmware yourself with just a few clicks (see below) or have it done for you by our technical team for a fee.
First, log in to the HOOC ManagementPortal. Under the site overview, change site in order get to the status and administration page. Here you will find under the HOOC gateway an icon for «Download current firmware». On the following page you then click on the magic wand icon to «start automatic firmware update».
